Yesterday, dozens of passers-by discovered Barbara for the first time.  They went inside and experienced the space, the paintings, and the way they are lit.  The reactions of people who encounter Barbara unexpectedly are often more vivid than those of people who know about and seek her out.

A trio of women, though, were the exception.  After seeing the posters and, from a distance, Barbara, they saw her on their way to brunch and decided to come back.   They went inside and, according to one, “were turned into Barbara(s).”  That’s about as vivid as it gets.
